A healthy school here in Trellech means a balanced lifestyle.  We have proven our commitment to being healthy by achieving as part of the Healthy Schools Award Scheme, our three leaves, a recognition of our success.  We have succeeded by:

• Ensuring that we have access to water throughout the day by using our water cooler to fill our bottles and then use in our classrooms.
• Encouraging snacks from home to be healthy.
• Having playground equipment available, including skipping ropes, space hoppers, tennis equipment to name but a few.
• We work on our organic vegetable patch with parent helpers
• We had a 'Healthy Eating Day' in November 2008 with a chef called Michael Coram who showed us how easy it is to make smoothies, natural yoghurt and other simple fruit snacks.

  

 

 

In the future we hope to continue with our success by selling more varied items in our fruit shop and encouraging all staff and pupils to have healthy snacks.
