Trellech Primary School is proud to have gained both Bronze and Silver Eco-school awards and in March 2009, we were awarded our Green Flag which now flies proudly outside on our flagpole.
The Eco-Schools programme is an international initiative that encourages pupils to engage with environmental and sustainable development issues. It provides a highly structured system for the environmental management of schools.
The programme is a learning resource and topic areas include Litter, Waste Minimisation, Transport, Healthy Living, Energy, Water, School Grounds and Global Citizenship. You can see other examples of our eco work by visiting Our Healthy School, Our International School and Our Forest School Pupils take key roles in decision making and participation in order to reduce the environmental impact of their school. In this way, Eco-Schools extends learning beyond the classroom and develops responsible citizenship attitudes both at home and in the wider community.
Our Eco team for 2009-10 are:
Louise, Florence, Oliver, Robert, Lauren, Daisy, India, Richard, Aifke and Dylan with a little help from Mrs Schartz

We collected 56 Yellow Pages books for recycling!
