We're a Forest School!

Forest School gives children a hands on approach to the curriculum. The curriculum is taught in our nearby Forest School by Mrs Evans and some committed parents.The experience benefits all children especially as they are often unaware that they are completing curriculum lessons! The ‘hands on’ approach allows children to gain ‘real’ experiences and therefore they are often able to remember their learning more confidently.

Each class attends Forest School for one afternoon a week for a half term. The block culminates with a traditional camp fire and marshmallows, which is usually quite popular! The work completed varies from literacy based work with reception as they go on a bear hunt, to Shelter Building in Year Six and Landscape Art work with Year Four and Five using a range of medium.

We go all year round in all weathers, so appropriate clothing is vital, high winds are the only thing to stop us!  Mrs Peacock and Mrs Evans have quite a clothing collection, just in case!
